Reine, Lofoten Islands, Norway is one of the most beautiful places that I have visited. When you arrive at a beautiful place, great composition helps your photo become even more beautiful. I was shown this bridge by my friend, Daniel Kordan, on a recent workshop. I dedicate this photo you, Daniel.

Oh Miah by Nicola Pirondini
Oh Miah by Nicola Pirondini
Hello everyone, today I’m happy to share with you a new image. Differently from most of my works, there is no strong color in the sky, no strong effects to alter the original image. It’s just a peaceful moment I want to remember. I called it “Oh Miah” because that’s the title of a track I was listening that day, and still gets in my mind when seeing these shots.
Hope you enjoy it!
Have a nice day everyone,
Nicola

Lake Bonney
South Australia This weekend, I went out to test three bits of equipment. Laowa’s 12mm F2.8 lens, a night filter by Nisi and a horizon GND by Nisi. This image was shot at 12mm which is very wide considering my widest lens to date is the 16-35mm F4. It has pretty good sharpness throughout so far that I can see. Stay tuned for a review on the lens once I get more use out of it. As for the Horizon ND filter, I think the current iteration is a a little too dense with an abrupt cut off. It’s an interesting concept, but for this image, I had to exposure blend anyway, which for me, kind of defeats the purpose of using GNDs. You can see the grad line in the bottom half, but not the top as that was balanced out by a 3 stop soft GND. The good thing about Nisi is that they listen to feedback so I’m hopeful there’ll be a softer graduated version of this filter in the future 🙂
