Just Another Footprint by Timothy Poulton
There is no doubt that we have already made an impact on Earth, which can never be reversed. Discovering this incredible location for the first time you’re reminded of the impact humans have on this planet, someone had constructed a massive rock wall in the perfect position for photographers, shielding them from the legendary winds of Patagonia. What’s next, the Moon, one of Earth’s natural vistas. Surely we can agree that we don’t want that changed? It is an impressive thing to look up and remember that human footprints once marked the Moon’s surface. It’s quite another to imagine the moon looking like an abandoned quarry. I know it’s next to impossible to be a landscape photographer without impacting the environment, but at least we can try.

I was in a creative mood last week and decided to edit some older images. The old harbour of Maassluis is such a cozy place and just the kind of place for what I had in mind. A dreamy, almost surreal type of image was created after 4 hours of post work (yeah I know…. my workflow isn’t the fastest of all). I hope you’ll all enjoy this as much as I did creating it 🙂 Press “M” or click the image for best viewing experience on black background.

Large and very dangerous tornado on the ground near Dodge City, Kansas. This tornado was on the ground for more than an hour. The National Weather Service issued a PDS (particular dangerous situation) warning for this storm as it approached Dodge City. This photo shows the tornado 5 miles (7 km) from town, When 3 miles (5 km) from town, the tornado completely lifted, missing the town….a miracle! Nobody was hurt.
