“Still Beaming” by David Thompson
Felt like posting a forest scene this afternoon. It’s a place that I’m missing right about now. Sunlight penetrates through morning fog and forest canopy creating incredible light beams. If you look in the center of the frame, you can see a spider web.

The Illusion Of Choice by The ...
The Illusion Of Choice by The Narratographer
We are all inundated with the illusion of choice. In today’s world, we all believe that we have complete free will and the world is saturated with what appears to be a limitless number of choices and options. Decide to buy yourself a coffee on the way to work and you are bombarded with a variety of ways to have it made. Latte, espresso, cappuccino, mocha, skinny, wet, tall, short, caramel syrup, hazelnut syrup, whipped cream and so on. Flick on your tv set and you are overawed at the number of available stations to scroll through in order to find nothing to watch. Go online and you will be suffocated with the amount of information and disinformation that fills up your screen quicker than you can read and digest it. But do we really have that much choice in todays world? I fear not. Not when it comes to the things that actually seem matter. And there is no better example of this than what is about to happen tomorrow. Yes, it is election day in the UK. This is the time when you get to decide between two rich members of the elite who have zero interest in you or anyone other than themselves and their own kind. As always, you get a choice that is not too dissimilar to Hitler or Stalin, suffocation or drowning. Neither choice will benefit you or anyone else in any way. Everything they tell you is a lie and everything they promise to do, they will not. Yes, they may give some more money to the NHS, but they will take it from education. They will do everything they can to protect the wealthy investors and family members that sit on the board of munitions companies, large corporations or anyone else who got them into power in the first place. Should you choose to to vote for someone else, you will be wasting your vote. In fact, all votes are wasted, because as a great man once said, it matters not who you vote for…the government always get in. This world gives us choice when it doesn’t matter, when it is irrelevant. Do you honestly think that they, the elite, would allow us, the sheep, to decide to who gets to run this system? Do you honestly believe they would do that? This country, and most others in the western world, are corporations. Companies do not let the employees decide who runs the show, they decide that themselves. All we do, the employees, is keep the wheels turning and the profit margin high. In the last decade or so, we, the people, have elected a man who deserves to be tried for war crimes, a man who sold more than half of our gold reserves when they were at their lowest price 30 years (and he was from a finance background), and a man that claimed the questioning of government word is as dangerous as terrorism. Right…can’t wait to see which idiot we choose next. But lets face it, it really doesn’t matter who gets in – the result will be the same. The only thing that changes is the colour of their tie. In todays world, the election is the greatest illusion of choice. PS – I have a conference call with 500px tomorrow so will update on what I learn regarding the issues recently raised.
