Last week I was finally able to visit the Posbank in National Park “The Veluwezoom”. This place is really magical in August when the heather is blooming and the landscape turns purple as if a magician has touched it with his wand. As this was my first visit I decided to go very early in the morning giving me some time to pick a good spot where first light would be great. When I arrived there was just a little bit of mist in between the layers of the fading landscape in the distance. Still there was enough splendor to make the place look really special. Just after the rising sun spread out it’s light over the gorgeous purple fields it became a morning I will never forget and in myself I was shouting oooeees and aaaahhs being there for the first time and feeling like a kid that had just entered a big candystore. I hope you all enjoy the images I shot there that morning, starting with this one…. For better viewing experience view this one on black and full size (click image or press “M”)

After scrambling up 30 degree ice, falling on loose rock, cutting myself almost to the bone, I arrived at this spot dripping wet and covered in mud. But what a spot! Some days even bad luck can’t do anything about the beauty of nature. Looking out of this 30ft wide ice cave I was lucky to be able to photograph the high peaks above. The upward perspective and super wide made it seem as if the falls came strait from the summit. It was an amazing, memorable scene and for such a short time. Hope you enjoy.

Kingdom of ice. It’s fascinating to see the underwater part of iceberg. 90 percent of ice is hidden there, below the black surface of cold water.
Panorama 4 vertical shots made with Nikon D810 + 14-24 nikkor.
