I’ve just released a new collection of photographs I made in Utah and Arizona throughout November. You can check them out here: alexnoriega.com/november-2017 If you follow me, you know that I release new images relatively slowly, and usually one image at a time. I even tend to go on hiatus for a couple months at a time as I continually re-evaluate my artistic priorities (or maybe that’s my excuse for laziness). Well, nothing makes me want to get out and photograph again each year like autumn in the Southwest! I was told I need at least 20 images for a “gallery release”, but I’m just too critical of my own work to produce that many in a month. I ended up whittling my initial selection of 30 images down to these final 15. Hopefully seeing these together gives you an idea of what I’m striving to create! This image of a cottonwood and desert brush is easily my favorite of the new collection, and it’s from one of my favorite areas of Utah. I’m looking forward to printing it big!

Life seems sometimes like nothing more than a series of losses, from beginning to end. That’s the given. How you respond to those losses, what you make of what’s left, that’s the part you have to make up as you go. (Katharine Weber)

The whole process of retouching the finished picture takes only about 10-15 minutes. Quick retouching is needed in order to have time to shoot beautiful photos. If interested, willing to share, offering all the knowledge accumulated over the years a few lessons. Frequency separation, Dodge & burn – all is already the past time. It’s time learn a new and easier! Training quick retouching to write in VC vk.com/spiltnik or in my instagram @spiltnik Meet more Classmates www.ok.ru/profile/558608940164 . Cracks in the ice sheet below the iconic Mount Kirkjufell at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, West Iceland. Although this area looks beautiful during all seasons, winter is when it really shines. You may recognise this scene from the popular TV series, “Game of Thrones”, where it was named the “Arrowhead Mountain”. In Icelandic, “Kirkjufell” translates to “Church Mountain”. Join me and my team on our next winter Icelandic photo adventure. More info: www.iceland-photo-tours.com
