Lighthouses are endlessly suggestive signifiers of both human isolation and our ultimate connectedness to each other.

Ever heard of the expression: “Go Happy, Go Lucky?” Well, some people are blessed to be born this way and so are some animals. They just aren’t equipped to worry. And should they feel a little temptation to do so, it’s quickly forgotten.
Others, by contrast, seem contsructed to stumble over the sligtest irregulartity. Well, the same goes for some fox kits. While some are born easy going as can be, others tend to be a little melancholic… As if they carry the world on their little foxy shoulders.
While the fox kits from another litter were playfighting endlessly, this one just walked around sluggishly, or just sat down just staring into nothingness….
Maybe she wasn’t feeling well, maybe it was just her nature, but somehow she just didn’t seem so ….happy. But, fortunately…the tide turned. Even little wallflowers do grow up and this particular one decided to flourish just a little later into a beautiful, healthy aldult fox.

On The Apex by Timothy Poulton
On The Apex by Timothy Poulton
We spend our times surrounded by the chaos of life and sometimes it’s hard to see past the distractions and see the beauty and power of a simple form. Sometimes the most simple of things can be the most difficult to pull off. You have nowhere to hide. So how do you stop an image with graphical form from falling flat? In my opinion, it all comes down to the balance between shape, texture and perspective. When trying to achieve a clean, graphical shot that will work both in colour and blank and white, focus on the form. Embrace the natural contours of your subject to create substance and use strong lines to lead the viewer’s eye around the composition.
