“Hidden Place” Rain pours down on a fun foggy Autumn morning out in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon with Ryan and Miles. I was going for more of a painterly look with this image. Prints are available at: www.candacebartlettphotography.com

Portfolio and services: www.landESCAPEphotography.com This is one of my personal favorite images from a recent trip to Mt. Rainier and the Pacific Northwest. After a summer of extreme drought in the Sierra, it was comforting to know that there was some place in the world that still has snow and flowing rivers. I had to do a good amount of perspective blending to get this angle, but all frames were captured in succession in the same scene. It’s not perfect, and I wish I had a tack sharp exposure for the grass behind the flowers, but I’m still happy with the rest of the image so I thought I’d share. Hope you enjoy it. – Jeff

Mount Rainier towers above the clouds at nightfall. Looks best on black. This is from the last night of a private tour I recently led at Rainier – no “epic” light or sunset, but definitely the most special conditions we got. These clouds rolled in and dissipated again in a matter of minutes – quite a thing to see. I’d like to dedicate this shot to the memory of my friend, Jeff Swanson, who died of cancer in August at 30 years old. I know it’s a bit late, but I knew this was the shot I wanted to be for him, and it took me a while to dial it in. Even though I didn’t know him long, I know if we had met sooner we’d have been the best of friends. I’ll miss you, buddy. f/it and be there. www.alexnoriegaphotography.com

The famous view of Quiraing, on the Totternish Peninsula, Isle of Skye, Scotland. Woke up at 4:30 this morning and walked the ridge in the dark, to witness that warm, strong and incredible sunrise.

One month of travel into the wild has passed. Thousands of kilometers through russian nature, through hard terrain on feet, by large trucks, boats to chase the light. We met first snow in the mountains covering golden leafs, encountering wild bears, wolfs, hundreds of birds and small animals. I finally come home today to have some rest before my photo-workshop in autumn Scotland.
