I’ve been pretty busy with work and other issues to be very active on 500px and other photo sharing places recently so I hope you’ll bear with me. Another trip to Lake Dumbleyung in Western Australia with the visit of my older brother to Perth. That’s him in the image using a Nikon d810 on his travel tripod. It’s the first time that I’ve worked on imaging the zodiacal light – the big triangle of light seen on the horizon heading towards the milky way. I don’t know if you can see them – but there are 3 satellites moving through the frame and 1 meteorite. Image is a panorama of 21 images in 2 tiers using Canon 6d and Tokina 11-16. Stitched together with PTGui, processed with lightroom, photoshop and topaz denoise. Last weekend I hosted another Dark Skies of Wonder astro photography workshop, along with the fantastic Mr Mark Gee. We had terrible weather all weekend but by some miracle the workshop started and ended with glorious and completely clear skies! A couple of brief but quite harsh showers did send us back to the cars but we soldiers on. Wind was an issue also but we dealt with that too. I didnt spend ,much time shooting at all, between instructing and helping people and feeling like I was about to keel over dead I managed only a handful of frames, still its a fantastic place and I’ll be going back to really shoot it another time.
