This is an image that I took over the summer in Jasper National Park. The hike in was long and muddy, but once I reached this valley I was truly stunned. I have seen images from here, but being there for myself was simply wonderful. The winners of this year’s ANZANG photography contest were recently announced and my image “bird tree” was named runner-up for the monochrome category. Please follow the link below to check out some of the other winners! www.anzang.samuseum.sa.gov.au/gallery/?year=2014&category=Monochrome&iswinneronly=true

Autumn Storm Light by Zack Sch...
Autumn Storm Light by Zack Schnepf
This is 2 exposures blended together using my advanced Photoshop tonality control and multiple exposure blending techniques. I produced a video detailing these techniques, it’s available here: www.zschnepf.com This might look familiar, my good friend Sean Bagshaw already posted his gorgeous version of this last week. He and I just returned from an epic trip to Colorado chasing the fall color. On this evening we were working a different location when we saw this storm rolling in just in time for sunset. I said to Sean “we need to go there right now”. We tossed the gear in the rig and quickly headed down to this spot we had scouted earlier. We both hopped out and setup in record time, just in time to capture this very photo. Thanks for commenting!

Please click on the image to view on black. I’m finally getting around to processing some images from this past Summer. This is a very well known scene from Mount Rainier National Park. While there was a beautiful sunset over the Tatoosh Range, my primary interest was on a vibrant, lovely patch of wildflowers that I discovered. I tried to place focus on those here with this image. The title comes from one of my favorite quotes: “We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” ~ Henry David Thoreau www.candacebartlettphotography.com

The hardest part of leading workshops, especially this time of year, is not having to ability to be one of the Greek God’s of weather. On this most recent workshop we were forced to work pretty hard to chase down good conditions, hunting the best of the weather and covering almost 1000 miles of travel. We were fortunate enough to make some good calls and ended up getting some good light all over the northwest while in search of fall color. This shot was on one of the mornings where we were stuck in an absolute deluge of rain, but managed to make the best of it at this lesser photographed river in southwest Washington. The fog at sunrise created a great atmosphere and long exposures made for interesting foregrounds. A wet day that ended up even wetter after driving hours back up north to the Olympic coast, where we shot a lovely sunset while being drenched from ridiculous rain and wind. Great times all around! Anyways, I recently released my 3rd instructional video on my approaches to processing. People seem to really be enjoying them and have had nothing but great things to say, so I *think* they are helping people… it’s been awesome to see the many before/after shots people have been emailing me. Be sure to check the videos out if you are into that sort of thing. It’s all on my website, as well as more photos, photo tour info, processing instruction via Skype like everyone else is doing, etc, etc. I’m also SUPER excited to be teaming up with Arild Heitmann to lead a tour through Norway’s Lofoten Islands to chase some some Aurora and the long hours of golden arctic light. The tour only has 3 spots left, so if you’re interested, be sure to check it out soon! Ryan Dyar Photography.

Another one from a series of shots taken on a beautiful morning in the Dark Hedges, Co. Antrim. This time from a slightly different angle looking back up the hill before the road turns. This has to be one of the best locations i’ve been too for photographs. Enjoyed spending the morning here.

It’s Christina – 33 years old mommy. Love her look 🙂 bear with me.. I just liked this colorphoto, and wanted to share it with you. It’s the most simple setup in the world. An undressed girl, sitting next to a window. I didn’t use anything besides my camera and lens. Hope you like it 🙂
