Morning colors at ice field center by William Lee

The panoramic view of snowy mountain and colorful clouds with lake reflections at ice field center of Jasper National Park. The left of the two glaciers is the most famous Athabasca glacier in Canada. The white dot at the upper left corner is the moon.

Probably my last pano selfie in quite a while. From a local “peak” which offers a grand view over Viking land of old. Tyrifjorden, one of Norway’s largest lakes, far ahead. The image is comprised of way too many 16mm horizontals 😉 Plus some blending for the sunstar (f/22) and highlights.

Kingscote Pier
South Australia [Freebies!]
[The everlook action and other tutorials] Another composition I took on a beautiful morning earlier this year. During the exposure, the sun peeped behind and out from cloud twice with a double sunstar – probably can’t see that on the web version but it was a cool surprise to see that on closer inspection while editing!

Just when you think Greenland could not be more epic, with its aurora, ice and giant bergs, it throws a lightning-bolt-shaped crevasse at you!
From the icecap explorations a few days ago with Mathieu Le Lay for the film, In the Starlight.

My Everlasting Gaze by Timothy Poulton

Although I do love oceans, deserts, and other wild landscapes, it is only mountains that beckon me with the sort of painful magnetic pull to walk deeper and deeper into their beauty. They keep me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more, to become more. One of the main highlights on the recent OOAK Tour to Iceland hosted by Mel Sinclair Mark Andreas Jones and yours truly. Looking for something a little different from this very popular location Jimmy Dau Paul Marion Rodney Topor and myself decided to venture a little further up the mountain to find this incredible series of waterfalls, creating the perfect foreground for the mountain fondly known as Kirkjufell. Still a couple of spots available for next years tour.

A Good Read by Jessica Drossin

Regina Brett Read said it best, “Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds.” The only thing that can make me feel better about summer’s passing is knowing that we get to look forward to autumn with it’s gorgeous color and falling leaves… Oh and the kids are back in school, lol! I’d love to see you here too:

Normally I don’t shoot mountains that are almost entirely in shadow, but they mysterious qualities through the light of this image is exactly why I did here. Thanks for any thoughts. Thoughts upon posting this image: ACK! Compression. Damn the compression on this site. No idea really why it affects some images more than others either…. grumble.
