Life! The continuous transformation by Bruno Soares

With an agitated mind, I arrived at my beautiful Azores. The day was spent walking around the beautiful Island of Faial, looking to calm the whirlwind of everyday events and to slow down from the speed that dominates this world today. On this magical tour around the Island, I relaxed on its wonders. I would pass through idyllic places, walk around the majestic cauldron of Faial, contemplate all that endemic nature around me!
I was about to reach the Capelinhos Volcano! Like a beautiful river, I would flow into what has become one of the most charismatic symbols of the Azores. I already knew that place well and knew where I wanted to be that day. I would go down to the waters around it and there wait for the magic of light from our Sun to happen!
Oh, and it happened! That landscape was extraordinary! Sitting on one of the basaltic rock formations, I absorbed it all! Soaked with all this magic, looking on the horizon at one of the beautiful constructions of nature, I began to think. What a great event it was the emergence of this beautiful volcano a little over 60 years ago.
In a life already hard, my countrymen once followed their journey with days similar to each other! Then, all of a sudden, witnessing something that felt like the end of the world, from where there would be no salvation, they, courageously, would adapt and reinvent themselves! They would show me that we, human beings, can be fantastic, transforming even a catastrophe into an opportunity to move on!
