A new cable channel celebrating the original MTV will launch on Aug. 1, in honor of its 35th birthday, according to a press release. MTV Classic is replacing VH1 Classic at 6 a.m. that day, airing fan-favorite TV shows from its heyday along with classic music videos. Among the shows airing regularly on MTV Classic are animated comedies like Beavis & Butt-Head, Daria and Clone High, along with stylized action cartoon Aeon Flux.

Lollapalooza kicks off today and just as important as what bands you'll be seeing are what foods you'll be eating. Momofuku pastry queen Christina Tosi has built her bakery into a New York empire of sweets. This year, famed Milk Bar will be at Lollapalooza to offer Chicagoans an opportunity to try the James Beard Winner's signature Crack Pie.

The annual music festival, which takes place in Quebec, Canada, also has a strong visual arts element. This year, a selection of 13 renowned and emerging artists have been selected to produce exclusive artwork during the festival. The festival, which celebrates its 11th birthday this year, may be known as a predominantly music-based festival, but visual art has always been an integral part of the event, especially the interaction of art and music.

Red Bull TV is streaming the music festival, with performers including J. Cole, Lana Del Rey, G. Eazy, Radiohead, Future, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ellie Goulding.

"Carpool Karaoke," the viral late-night television skit in which celebrities from Adele to Michelle Obama sing along in a moving car, is expanding to Apple Music. The tech giant and CBS television, which broadcasts the recurring segment as part of "The Late Late Show with James Corden," announced Tuesday that "Carpool Karaoke" will become a 16-episode series for Apple Music. Corden will still air "Carpool Karaoke" on his show but a new version — with a host to be determined – will appear on Apple Music, the company's streaming service launched last year.

The pop diva was in the running for 11 awards at MTV's annual extravaganza, which will take place August 28 in New York's Madison Square Garden, a shift from the more common venue in Los Angeles. Adele came in second with eight nominations. All but seven were for the chart-topping English balladeer's "Hello," which with more than 1.6 billion views is the fifth most watched video ever on YouTube.
