Apple is ending the Beats streaming music service on November 30 as it seeks to bring users to its newly launched Apple Music. The move, which had been widely expected, comes a little more than a year after Apple completed its $3 billion acquisition of Beats, known for its high-end headphones and other audio equipment in addition to its streaming service. Apple's biggest-ever acquisition also brought onboard the talents of Beats brains Dr. Dre, a rap musician and entrepreneur, and Jimmy Iovine, a music producer seen by some as a visionary for recognizing the trend toward online streaming.

Apple has anounced that Beats Music will close on November 30, and all subscriptions will be canceled. With the launch of Apple's new streaming service, Beats Music is being closed down and subscriptions canceled. Users, however, can move their playlists and preferences over to Apple Music.

All subscriptions to the Apple-purchased streaming service will be canceled and users should switch to Apple Music, a support message reads.

Alphabet Inc launched the YouTube Music Mobile App on Wednesday, less than a month after rolling out YouTube Red, a $9.99 per month service that provides ads-free access to all YouTube services. The move pits the digital video library against established streaming services in a battle YouTube executives say they are in position to win.

When it comes to hit songs, there is a formula for success. The song was an instant success in every way: On Vevo, the music video generated the highest number of views in a 24-hour span (27.7 million) and was the fastest video to reach 100 million views.

The dispute centers on webstreams of rock concerts.

Diane Warren, angling for an eight nom and first win in the best original song Oscar category, won the best song in a doc prize for “‘Til It Happens to You,” on which she collaborated with Lady Gaga.

ABC will air the AMAs live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Nov. 22, with Jennifer Lopez performing and hosting for the first time.
