China aims to build up its music industry, targeting output of 300 billion yuan ($47 billion) by 2020, the state-owned Xinhua news agency reported on Wednesday. The goal is part of China’s latest Five-Year Plan, a blueprint for economic and social development between 2016 and 2020. The plan would include cultivating large scale music companies, establishing standards for the industry and encouraging the industry to expand abroad, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television told a forum in Beijing, according to the Xinhua report.

They released their second new album of 2015 and their fifth album for kids.

South Korean pop star Psy has released another song, "Daddy", which has gone viral within just a few hours of going online. Released on November 30, Psy's "Daddy" music video has now generated over 12 million views. The crazy video sees Psy at different phases in his life, with his adult face digitally imposed over a baby, then child's head.

South Korea's biggest stars will gather in Hong Kong Wednesday night at one of K-pop's biggest events. "Gangnam Style" Psy, K-pop boy band Big Bang and South Korean-Chinese heartthrobs EXO are in the line-up for the seventh annual Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The Koreans will be joined by Britain's Pet Shop Boys, who are set to perform with girl group f(x), as well as other celebrities such as Taiwanese diva Jolin Tsai and Hong Kong movie star Chow Yun-fat, organisers said.
